Table for Six

Yes, that's where this blog has to start. For three reasons:
  1. I can never remember how many are in our party. Even counting them confuses me.
  2. The hostess smiles because, with four kids, you're going directly to the table of the waiter she least likes.
  3. You shouldn't be going to a restaurant with four kids. That's only sane. Or the only thing more insane is saying, "Table for five," when it's just one adult with four kids.
Anyway, we look forward to keeping everyone updated on the mess that is our lives. (I recently heard a spot on Marketplace that said that keeping a clean desk is counter-productive to productivity and in fact a waste of financial resources. So it is with a family. Or I'm hoping so.)

Hello Mr. Mess,

I object to the title of this blog. Taking into consideration that I do most of the clean up around here...And also the word mess has a negative conatation (I know I spelled this wrong)I like this "mess". So how about the Martin-Spazhouse or, Little people have taken over, or something with more imagination Mr. Creative writer. I like table for 6. We havn't spilt anything yet this morning but frida is running around with the rat making werid noises.
Love the manager of the mess.

Hello, Mr and Mrs Maybe-Not-A-Mess-But-Almost-Certainly-Chaos,

Tis I, Valerie! And I totally get the mess! Say! Let's go out to eat together! The only thing more insane than going to a restaurant with 4 kids is going to a restaurant with EIGHT! Yeeehaw!!!Let's pick the one with the most beligerant wait-staff. Let's let David, Harper and Taelor all self feed! Let's let Kyra and Frida be in charge of CLEANING UP after the little ones. Let's let Olivia and Maya be in charge of chasing Kyra and Frida. LET'S HAVE MARTINIS!!

Let's not get too excited.

Love you guys!
Val

wait- I don't do bad math- I just forgot to mention that Michael will be running to fetch the martinis from the bar. Hell, we might as well utilize the fact that he's a kid, yet not a child!

::laughing at self::
